Marziya and the Kolis

When she was barely a tiny tot Marziya spent her time in  Manjula Kolis lap, the fishy environment the filthy Bandra Bazar  fish market the stench did not bother her, she was at home with the Kolis here and all of them loved Marziya..most of the fisherwomen call her Marziya Koli.

And Marziya does not eat fish at all, maybe because her Mother does not eat fish at all..but Marziya can pick up any fish big small even prawns.

Marziya did not lose touch with the Kolis and when I bought her her with my camera she shot the Kolis and Manjula , Manjula is originally from Chimbai but now after marriage to a Worli man she lives in Worli Koliwada ..she is now Manjula Khankian.,

Manjula brightens up on seeing Marzia and they speak the Koli language , Marziya does not speak it but understands it fairly well.

And when Marziya comes home there is hell to face as her mother hates fish smell...and I make a quick disappearing act.
