Uncoiling the Serpent -Tantric Kundalini in Photography

The body is nothing but a camera.. the eye sees it all captures it on the parchment of the human soul..these were words of my other photo guru Prof BW Jatkar,,he taught me the art of shooting with my eyes closed on one leg, he called it uncoiling the Serpent within the consciousness of my mind or Tantric Kundalini..

An accident made him give up photography for good..but the lessons he taught me became chapters of my pictorial quest.

I was searching for a disciple to hand over the heritage of my Masters tantric lessons.. in photography.

The day Marziya Shakir my grand daughter was born , with the umbilical cord choking her neck, I realized the true meaning of uncoiling the Serpent..

Marziya was kept under observation , she had come through her horrible moments of child birth, I saw her on the second day through the eye of my camera..Shivas third eye so to speak.

I had been gifted a disciple.

I placed a miniature camera close to Marziya every month of her life, I carried her on my waist shooting pictures , while she hung precariously , watching me observing my style , my moves , my inner mechanism as it captured moments frozen in Time.

Now at Now Public I present you a 16 month old photographer following the footsteps of her Master. It may not be related to News but yes it is related to a lot of things ..that go beyond the arena of news..

I taught her nothing and through this nothingness she taught me much.

Tantric Kundalini..Uncoiling the Serpent

Marziya Shakir takes charge..

And its tough writing this with tears flowing down my cheek.

I dedicate this to a father in Bangalore Prakash.
